Reed Diffuser FAQ

Reed Diffusers have become a very popular of introducing wonderful fragrance in to your home. Email us if you have further questions.

What exactly are the reeds?

Our diffuser reeds are very porous and each reed contains up to 20 cellular sections that work like straws to absorb the fragrance from the bottom to the top of the reed.  The fragrance is released through the reeds naturally without a flame.  Some items may look like reeds, but they do not have the cellular scent soaking sections like reeds do and therefore will not work as well.

How long will my reeds last and can I reuse them?

Your reeds should last a few months.  All you need to do to refresh them is turn them over so that the bottom of the reed that was sitting in the oil is now on the top of the diffuser bottle.  If this doesn’t help to refresh the scent, your reeds may be totally saturated and clogged.  If this is the case, then just discard them and add fresh reeds to your oil.  We have not found a way to successfully clean the reeds for reuse and they are cheap enough to replace too.

Replacement reeds are available on our Home Accents page.

How do I set up my reed diffuser system when I get home?

Pour the oil into the diffuser bottle, insert reeds. Turn reeds over once to expose oil-moistened sticks to air. The oil will continue to wick up the sticks and scent your room for several months. Turn reeds occasionally to refresh scent.

Are refills available?

We do offer fragrance oils and replacement reeds. When you’re ready for a new fragrance, simply empty the fragrance oil into the trash (do not pour down the drain as it may clog). We recommend running it through a cycle or two of your dishwasher to remove any residual fragrance. Add your new fragrance oil and fresh reeds and enjoy the aroma!

Replacement reeds and oils are available on our Home Accents page.
